Al Pacino: Theater & Film Night Three - Feat. Wilde Salome and A Conversation Concerning Oscar Wilde with Al Pacino and Michael Silverblatt of KCRW's Bookworm

This evening brings Michael Silverblatt of KCRW’s Bookworm together with Al Pacino for an in depth discussion of Oscar Wilde’s work, life and influence on Pacino.
Al Pacino’s infectious presence ties it all together; playing himself, Wilde in a few scenes and King Herod in “Salome.” Wilde Salome is a vivid mix of backstage drama, feature film and travelogue through Wilde’s life. In Wild Salome Pacino pulls off a seemingly impossible juggling act of making a play, a documentary about that play and Oscar Wilde, and a movie about all three. Jessica Chastain, basically discovered by Pacino and his team, considering that at this point she had only a handful of Television credits to her name, portrays Salome in the play, and is already at this point, a mesmerizing performer, bringing to life the character’s vulnerability and cruelty.
Dir. Al Pacino, 2011, 95 min.
