The Rise And Fall Of The Clash (West Coast premiere!) 7:30PM

By 1980, The Clash had broken out from the U.K. underground and into the mainstream following a succession of brilliant albums. By 1982, they became one of the greatest punk crossover success stories ever, with Combat Rock. And, by 1983, the band was quickly on its way to becoming only a memory. Thundering internal tensions, a punishing non-stop work schedule, a highly controversial band manager, revolving-door late lineups — these are but a few of the many threads tightly interwoven into The Rise And Fall Of The Clash, a rare exploration into the demise of one of the most influential groups in rock history. Delivering unprecedented candor on the subject of “The Only Band That Ever Mattered”, the film features brand-new interviews with Clash bandmates and associates like Mick Jones, Ray Jordan, Pearl Harbour, Norman Watt-Roy, Pete Howard, Nick Sheppard, Viv Albertine, Vic Godard, Jock Scot, Mike Laye and Rudy Can’t Fail, who all cut the crap and get straight to the heart of the matter. Producer Glenn Aveni, along with interview participants from the film, will be in attendance for a Q&A after the film!
Dir. Danny Garcia, 2012, HD presentation, 90 min.
