TELETHON 2013: Finale (feat. lunch w/ Bruce Dern, and more!)

Portions of this timeslot sponsored by SNOOT FILMS.

It’s the home stretch of our audiovisual extravaganza. Hopefully we’ll have raised some money while lifting your spirits, and it’ll be a time for much celebration. But this Telethon isn’t just about us — it’s about the worldwide film community, which is why we’d like to take this opportunity to present the first-ever Cinefamily Lifetime Achievement Award to Bruce Dern. Over the course of his incredible decade-spanning career, Dern has mastered acting, studied with Lee Strasberg at the Actor’s Studio, worked on Broadway with Elia Kazan, escaped his early typecasting as a heavy with leading roles like Silent Running, Smile and The King of Marvin Gardens, and just recently won the Best Actor prize at Cannes for his starring role in Alexander Payne’s latest, Nebraska. We’ll sit down for a lunchtime conversation/hangout with Dernsie, covering his dedication to long-distance marathon running, the changing role of TV, the transformation of the American studio system during the ‘70s, and beyond… Join us as we pay our respects to a master of his craft with a celebration of Cinefamily values.

This event is FREE — but here’s how to attend:
1) First-come, first-served. Just c’mon down! People donating will get put to the front of the line. We are asking people to RSVP.
2) Make a donation in advance! For anyone who makes a membership-sized donation, we’ll set a seat aside for you at the timeslot of your choice.
