GREG PROOPS FILM CLUB: Return of the Living Dead + podcast taping!

Co-presented by A Special Thing

In addition to being one of the mind-warpingly quick-draw improv comics on earth, Greg Proops is now the host of a new lugubrious, salacious, verbacious monthly podcast that the Cinefamily is proud to host: The Greg Proops Film Club! First up, Greg records his latest episode live on the Cinefamily stage, and then it’s time for a groovy ghoulie 35mm screening of Return of the Living Dead, the legendary ‘80s zombie comedy from Dan O’Bannon (Alien). Greg sez: “The greatest and zaniest of all zombie movies. The true story of what happened after Night of the Living Dead. The Government used a secret poison gas called trioxin and let’s not get too technical, the government created zombies that eat human brains. It is all true. There are naked ‘80s punk girls, undead Civil War veterans and a bitchin’ death rock soundtrack by .45 Grave and the Cramps. You will laugh and cry and spew and run for the snack bar to demand brains. This will be the highlight of your Halloween season. You will want to be slightly drunk to see this (I suggest Canter’s Kibitz Room just down the street.) It is braintastic. Send more cops.” Proops will deconstruct, reanimate and regale this fine classic, plus tackle 467 ancilliary tangents in an expert flick of the verbal wrist. Be there!
Dir. Dan O’Bannon, 1985, 35mm, 91 min.

Q: Does Greg talk over the movies, like the Doug Benson Movie Interruption?
A: No. It is a recording of his podcast, followed by a screening of the film.
