On December 17th, as our year-end fundraiser, the Cinefamily will put on 24 straight hours of awesome events. You can watch them online here, or come on down to The Silent Movie Theatre on Fairfax, and be part of the live studio audience. Happy holidays!
Admission will be free, on a first-come, first-serve basis, and a new audience will be brought into the theater ever 4-5 hours, at the specified times below. We want to give as many people a chance to be in the studio audience, so it's kind of like a rollercoaster -- when the fun is done, you can always get back in line.
Remember: Cinefamily members get priority admittance, so now is a great time to sign up for membership! For guaranteed entry, you might consider one of our couch auctions!

Q: How does ticketing work?A: Good question! Yes, this is a 24-hour telethon, and there is a “-thon” in the title, but the only folks who have to go the distance are the folks puttin’ it on. This is best explained as a 24-hour series of events, broken into six different 4-5 hour blocks of entertainment -- each with separate admission. We did this so that as many people as possible could have a chance to be in the “live studio audience”, and so people could have a reasonable chance of seeing what they wanted.
Q: When should I get there?
A: What we ask folks to do is to show up for the timeslots that are most important to them. Just like when you take a rollercoaster ride, once the ride (or timeslot) has ended, you'll exit -- or in moviegoing terms, we'll be clearing the house (though you can exit through the patio, and have a nice drink, hang out, etc.) If you want to take another ride (or see another timeslot), you'll need to get back in line for it. This way, as many new viewers as possible will have a chance to partake in the magic. You can also watch online!
Q: How will admission work?
A: As usual with our free events, admission to the telethon shows is first-come, first-serve -- but remember, Cinefamily members (we love you guys) get first admittance, So this would be a fantastic time to step up and get yourself a membership! We’ll have a membership station right outside, so you could sign up on the spot and get on the “fast track”!
Q: How do I support the Cinefamily?
A: How nice of you to ask. Getting a membership a real win-win for everyone. It’s easy to forget that it’s a tax-deductible donation, because the benefits are great (we want you to come to the movies!). Also, you can make a general donation, or volunteer. If you run a business, you could make a larger donation, and get a group membership for all your employees!
Q: What if I’m already a member?
A: You can still donate! You could also renew your membership for another year.
In addition, members and non-members alike will get a chance to place a bid on one of our super-comfy leather couches via online auction, which guarantees the best seat in the house!
