CINESPIA SALON: A Night With Laraaji (seriously rare L.A. performance!)

Discovered in true storybook fashion by Brian Eno in the late-’70s — found with his eyes closed and absorbed in the vibrations of his electric zither in Washington Square Park — Laraaji is forever true to his own musical vision of timeless peace. Neither outsider nor insider, Laraaji is an everysider and friend to everyone. His work is celebrated in two new genre-defining compilations out this month — I Am The Center: Private Issue New Age In America, 1950-1990 and Laraaji: Celestial Music 1978-2011. Joined by collaborator Arji Oceananda, Laraaji will share his luminous, pulsating sounds and infectious spirit, followed by a program of ultra-rare new age video art selected by I Am The Center producer Douglas Mcgowan. Be not afraid! Join us for an unforgettable night of musical and visual enchantment — plus, DJ Carlos Niño spins records at intermission, and we’ll have hot tea/snacks on the backyard Spanish patio. SPECIAL THANKS TO LIGHT IN THE ATTIC RECORDS, ETHEREAL SEQUENCE RECORDS, WARP RECORDS, ALL SAINTS RECORDS & AMOEBA MUSIC.
