Ain't In It For My Health: A Film About Levon Helm (director in person!)

“A captivating look at a musician hanging onto his art for dear life.” — The Hollywood Reporter

“His is a story of survival, and singing in the face of death.” — Variety

“Listen, kids: long before Mumford & Sons grew out their facial hair and went digging for musical roots, there was the Band, who made a whole new thing out of old-time American music, even though they were 80% Canadian. Less an archival clip job than a late-night jam session, [‘Ain’t In It For My Health’] is informal and inviting.” — The New York Times

Filmmaker Jacob Hatley’s intimate documentary finds the late Levon Helm at home in Woodstock, NY, in the midst of creating his first studio album over two decades. Shot over the course of two-plus years, this highly anticipated film focuses in on the four-time Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member after his 2007 comeback album, “Dirt Farmer”, brought him back to the spotlight. Jacob Hatley in person for a Q&A after the film!
